In Gear Industry earlier usually 14.5° and 20° pressure angle hobs were being used. But now a days due to design requirement, non-availability of drawings or monopolistic approach even non-standard pressure angles are being used. In such cases we require to have the correct pressure angle of sample gear.
Sometimes we have a physical sample of gear but we don't have drawings or technical details. And we require pressure angle of the gear for cutting the new gear.
This computer software ( Pressure Angle Finder) has been developed to find the pressure angle of a spur or helical gear from a sample gear by measuring the measurement over teeth (MOT) or base tangent length or dimension over pins (DOP) of old teeth.
